Welcome to the Chair of Genetics
The Chair of Genetics is spread over 3 different locations:
The main location is the BTE building at Erwin-Rommelstraße 3, where the research groups of Prof. Nimmerjahn (chair holder), Prof. Lux, Dr. Werner and Prof. Slany have their laboratories. Right next door at Staudtstr. 5 is the research group of Prof. Nitschke and the laboratories of the Winkler Group are located in the Nikolaus-Fiebiger Center for Molecular Medicine in the city center.
During the lecture period, there is a weekly joint chair seminar in which reports on current research are given in turn. We also attach great importance to socialize and go hiking or barbecuing together. Our joint Christmas party is an absolute highlight every year.
Our chair has a wide range of research topics to offer and is always happy to receive inquiries for Bachelor’s and Master’s theses as well as doctoral dissertations.
